*An old, leather-bound book belonging to the paladin, Sir Deraj, Knight of the Holy Fist. The book appears to have seen use for well over a decade and the hand-writing is measured and precise with a small amount of flourish.*
18 Jul 321, Trinsic.
2 hours on dummy, diagonals. Spar w. Trainer, remark: unfocused, restless. Suggestion: med.
Situation with the order is precarious, unstable. Squire Faeryl has abandoned nearly all notions of obedience and respect for higher-ranking brothers and sisters and is openly defiant. Punishment will be insufficient. The squire should be banished but the Knight Marshal is reluctant. An order founded on principle cannot exist without it. The stability of the order depends on strict obedience, not simply to the superiors but to the idea upon which an order is built. Newcomers shall be initiated into the newly forged Warden branch of the order, opening the door to more of this deviant behavior. Regrettably lost temper in order Halls; will need to practice greater discipline in the face of these transgressions. Adjustment is necessary after many years of solitary questing. The oath must be honored, and the integrity of the order must be maintained no matter what. Honor demands it.

5 rotations thru weights, calis., remark: decrease repetition next round, focus reflex ex.
Arrived at Hall to find gathering. Two new members, elves. Names Ullyan and Ormaline. Ezekial also initiated. After further chastisement of the unworthy initiate, Faeryl, initiate Ullyan determined to speak on her behalf. The initiate spoke out of ignorance but came to see reason; a sign of promise. Other initiate, Ormaline, appears thin and unfit. Likely candidate for the Warden Branch. Initiate Faeryl is to become squire to Lady Darkstar. I objected to this, but my objection will not be heeded. Faeryl has not yet earned the honor.
The purpose of a hierarchy is not to praise the ego of the master nor to grind the spirit of the student; it is to uplift all and provide cohesiveness to that which would be chaos without it. Anything else is self-destruction. At the abbey there was no formal hierarchy. But ours was an informal one derived from our bond as brothers. In the Halls, no such bond exists except that it is forged through discipline, obedience, faith, and humility, as it was in the old order. Humility most of all, for a student that lacks it cannot learn, and a master that lacks it cannot teach. Only when master and student alike find a common understanding that both are but students; only then can true learning begin. The arrogant master sets the student on the wayward path, achieving not learning but the honors of learning. Wayward student becomes wayward master. The cycle persists until the original wisdom of the genuine masters can no longer sustain the ill-formed hierarchy festering upon it. Every path but humility leads to destruction.

3 Sep 321, Britain.
15 uncooked ribs, 5 black pearl. Comp. 90,259g to Trinsic Treas., granite. 1 Daemonic Amulet.
Brother Edward once said, warriors do not always fight with swords. The ambushers will only strike at traders, so a trader one must become. Some carry strange and evil objects. Daemonic amulets. Ritual Bolines. Phylacteries. The evidence points to demonic or black magic.
The primary concern, however, are the carts. In all of my journeys I have never once observed a cart in motion. This is troubling as it causes me to realize I never before considered the nature of carts and wagons in the first place. All trade orders are conducted using a container provided by the trade minister of a city. The containers seem to possess magical qualities that allow the reduction in the weight of any item placed within it. The magic allows mass quantities to be transported without the requirement of a beast, yet paradoxically prohibits magical travel, with the exception of the public moongates. I can only surmise that the use of the moongate degrades the magical properties of the containers, as the trade ministers offer less compensation if moongates have been used. It is important to note that only the public moongates allow this. Summoned moongates will not permit the magic containers. The ambushers seem to be after the container for some nefarious purpose - for if you are struck down in battle, they will steal the container, leaving one with only its contents. More alarming, however, are the carts which seem to manifest from thin air. Set ablaze, the carts seem to herald the arrival of the ambushers, but once the ambushers are fought back the cart vanishes in a hiss of black smoke. Only black magic can explain this behavior. But why? The carts usually carry containers of their own. Are these the same containers stolen from trade order runs? It cannot be possible, for the trade containers are mostly incapable of being magically teleported.
Unless the schemers behind this dark plot are somehow inverting the magical properties of the containers, altering the type of dimension they are capable of moving through. This will explain their coming and going, but lack of apparent motion. This leads to another problem altogether.
The otherworldly magician Mythran has spoken at length of the titans and his world, Pagan, whence they have come. His books of lore go into detail about their devastating effect upon his world, and now it is clear that the ambushers are connected somehow with the buried obelisks and even these titans which endanger the Kingdom of Britannia. It is clear that the servants of these titans working in Britannia are collecting the magic trade containers, inverting their magical properties only to build larger containers to house the titans on massive, motionless carts. These containers would have to be titanic in size. I fear that the threat they have posed has only spurred many like myself to investigate these attacks, in turn giving them only more and more containers to be rebuilt into much larger magical transdimensional barrels and boxes through which these titans will arrive, as if to be mailed from one world to another in one massive, baneful trade order.
If the mage speaks true, these titans are likely too strong for me alone. From here I can only fight alongside my fellow Britannians to vanquish this evil from our homeland.
