his eyes struggled to stay open as he continued to flip through pages and pages of old books. The old wooden chair was uncomfortable and wobbly.
All these books...so much to read and discover...will I ever have enough time...
He spent most of the day tucked away from sight inside the library. When he left he placed several books in his pack and returned to his secluded spot in the woods.

The books he collected that day at the library inspired some curiosity...something was calling out to him about his past...his family...those he had never met. He searched for answers as his mind wandered...the scanning of pages...searching...trying to uncover anything that would shed the faintest of light on his Elven heritage...why had his mother told him nothing?
Edred rubbed his temples...tilting his head downward, he covered his face with his hands and sighed. He was tired...he'd hardly slept for weeks...between the books and traveling he was worn out. The small room was dark. Light flickered off the walls from several candles that managed to stay lit, even though the windows let in a draft that would chill you to the bone. His eyes shut...his breathing slowed and steadied...he began to sleep...
