At long last, they have finally come to their senses and returned the crystal to me. The next step is to return the object to its wretched home and chant the words that will release the elemental death from within. Now that time permits, I must inscribe here the books found within the city of Mistas.

Tonight, I have done what I never thought I would do to my teacher and master, Myshkaar. I snuck into his inner sanctum and found the most strangest artifact: a pulsing crystal alongside a pile of notes. Sensing a profound importance in this object, I immediately stole it along with his notes to study on my own. I quickly confirmed what I suspected all along: the crystal has something to do with the newfound power Myshkaar has discovered. This crystal must be a part of something larger, but I cannot be certain yet what that might be. I must keep my actions a total secret, or else everything may be doomed.

The crystal has properties which I'm not sure I will ever fully understand. Amongst his notes, Myshkaar mentioned discovering magic supposedly activated by an incantation, one in particular was "EX CORP". I know this to mean "freedom death", but I cannot understand, first of all, how this kind of magic even works, and secondly, what it is supposed to mean. Does that mean that the essence of death is contained within this crystal? Another strange phenomenon is when I touch the crystal, I get a feeling of deja vu, as if the corridors of Terort Skitas are familiar to me unlike the way I am currently familiar with them. It is as if I have been here before, or have always been here. IT is a difficult feeling to describe, and quite subtle at first, but lately it has grown on me, and reminded me of Mont-Or. Another spell that Myshkaar discovered was EX MANI, mani meaning "life". Is this to suggest that the crystal also possesses the essence of life? How can it contain both?
There is something else here in this dungeon, a dark influence which I believe has empowered and corrupted the Orphilem. When I snuck into his inner sanctum, I found all manner of horrors within, walking corpses and other grisly abominations. His power has truly become terrifying! He must be stopped. This madness must come to an end so we can work on what we came here for originally: returning to our home.

Tonight we will overthrow that fiend Myshkaar and cease his mad research as well as cleansing the temple. He has abandoned us to his devious magic and broken his oath to Mont-Or. He cannot be allowed to continue, or possibly even live. There will be blood tonight. I have gathered my closest companions. The first step will be to devise a magical defense of the upper temple, so that Myshkaar's undead monstrosities will be unable to escape this place. The second step will be to move on Myshkaar's inner sanctum. My fellows know the risks but they are behind me. They understand that all our lives are at stake with that mad mage at the helm. We will be outnumbered, but my mages only need to hold them off long enough for me to enter the sanctum and cleanse the crystal. Reading Myshkaar's notes have provided some illumination into the nature of this new method of spellcasting. If this crystal does indeed possess the essence of death, then by casting the spell I will cleanse the object of this property, thereby nullifying Myshkaar's power and perhaps the darker influence behind it all. It will become an artifact of life and can be usd to restore Mont-Or's former beauty. It must be done for hte good of all.

The information provided on the mysterious scrolls during my search for Belon have provided a wealth of wisdom on a new form of spellcasting. It allows the magician to channel the ether through the use of certain incantations to give the ether form and purpose. I have set to the task of researching healing power, namely a search for a resurrection spell. My efforts so far have borne some fruit, but fall short of the true goal. I have learned how to animate corpses and bring back the fallen in a state of "undeath", so to speak. They are mindless and without any personality whatsoever. Also quite harmless, but I have managed to exert control over them. I cannot help but fear the possibility that I might lose control over them. It is possible, should that happen, that they would be quite harmless. Another possibility exists where they are not harmless at all.

Blast! I returned to my quarters only awhile ago to discover that the crystal, and my notes, have gone missing! There is a thief in our midst. The crystal had unique and mysterious properties which to this day I have been unable to uncover. My hypothesis is that, based upon the spells I have found on the undead previously, it contains either the properties of life or death (surely not both, that would be absurd). However, whatever the spells actually do, Ex Mani and Ex Corp, remains unclear. I have not been able to utilize the power of the crystal in any way, but frankly, I liked having it around. It reminded me of someone I once knew.

What is the answer?? Why can I not discover the secret of resurrection?? Everyday I become more and more suspicious of everyone around me - none of them understand the powers I wield! Yet what use are these powers, I have no need for them; there is only one I seek and that is to bring back Telaar! I sense his spirit in this place, his presence is apparent even here in the terort! Yet the answer eludes me, and so does the hope that I will ever be among trusted companions ever again. And who more trustworthy than my brother? Telaar, I will find the answer to this riddle, I swear it!

It seems the story is finally revealed in these final tomes. The Anskitas, taking residence in Terort Skitas, crumbled as a result of their leader finding the crystal and succumbing to its corruption. The crystal no doubt contains some aspect of those it has touched, taking it from them like a thief. The elemental death it possesses is most certainly its bond to the mysterious "Brood" that dwells in the deep. Belon sought to cast "EX CORP", I believe, but clearly failed to do so as the crystal still poses a threat. I shall follow in his path.
As I write this, near to the soft glow of the crystal, a troubling thought comes to mind, a memory that invokes melancholy in my soul. I remember, with painful clarity, when Astrid had fallen sick. Times were tough in those days; with her too weak to even stand, I worked the fields in the morning, and continued my duties at the bakery in the evening. One night word came to me that her condition had become quite serious. I rushed with all my power in the fading light, but I was too late. I had only wanted to see her one last time, but even that, fate would deny me.
I cannot explain why, but my quest and my past seem intertwined - by putting to rest the madness of Terort Skitas, I will put to rest the guilt in my own soul.
